I need to get these thoughts

You shoved, so I ran,
and while the idea of us
seemed like a place
I could call home,
my heart was states away.
We should have seen
this coming, we were
such wonderful liars
right from the start.

So once again I scour
the streets, never speaking
your name, for it
burns on my tongue
but the suffering remains
in this poem,
suffocating
as I once did.
